ChRiStMaS with the KiNg'S

"Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

Well Christmas and all it entails has ARRIVED!!! My favorite holidays are birthdays to celebrate so it is no surprise that Jesus' birthday is by far my favorite :)! Happy Birthday Jesus! I hope everyone is taking time out to celebrate the birth of our Savior! Don't get so caught up in the holiday madness to forget the Reason for the season! To me the story of Jesus' birth is the story of the cross! Thank you Lord for coming to this earth to save our souls! I am so thankful for an amazing God of mercy and love! 'The Christmas Story' is one of my favorites of all times! One day when we have children I want to sit around a crackling fireplace every Christmas and share the sweetest story ever told to our children-the story of Jesus! Christmas time just makes me plain giddy inside! :) We are so blessed to have amazing family and friends to spend the holiday season with! Our holiday gatherings have already begun and we have lots more to go! Santa delivered early this year at the King residence :) about 6 years ago while Dustin and I were dating he asked if I wanted to get a new kitchen table.. at the time I thought the one he had was just fine and isn't that what old married couples get?! Well fast forward several years and every since we have been married I have been wanting a new kitchen table. Funny how things change! :0) .. So anyway last night I was surprised with a new kitchen table!! I LOVE it!! Santa did good!

my handsome husband :)

thank you santa! ;)

my charlie brown tree for the kitchen :)..

our cute stockings :)

our first family dinner on our new table .. haha!

almost all the presents under the tree!

LOVE it!!!

I made some homemade toffee! It is so good if I must say so myself ;)

I was trying to be creative with something I had to share my toffee with co-workers.. I already had the red cups, I used gift tags and the tool that I was using for my gift wrapping and bought some party favor bags for .99 cents at fred's! :) I thought they turned out pretty cute!

five dollar find...

Sometimes I love being random and looking around in a flea market! It is so much fun to me! Sometimes there are the neatest things in flea markets. I found an old window for $5 and I thought it would look great hanging on my wall. While I was picking this out an old man was walking by and said "the things people buy...darlin I had some old windows I just took out of a house I could have given ya." Maybe my purchase was a little random, but it reminded me of something you might seen in pottery barn.. but for a lot less. I love old, new but old looking, vintage, and a lot of weird things! ha! For instance the thing I hung this window by is a little different too, but they looked perfect for each other! :)
It has 3 panes on the top and none on the bottom.. i loved that about it too!

Every year I add a little something or big something to my holiday collection! I usually get it after the holidays when they are on sale, but I just could not pass this cute dish up! ;) I served a chocolate chip cheese ball out of it thursday night! Oh I love holidays and the things that come along with them!! Maybe a little bit of a fanatic.. that's ok though!

Christmas time's a comin'...

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season so far! This week was filled with friends and fun! Here is a little recap....
Monday:
I got my hair done! I just do not think there is anything better than a new hair do, new panties, or new socks! ha! jk! but I do love all those things :) and not only did I get my normal hair cut, shape, style, thinning out etc. I got color put on my hair for the first time EVER and I love it!! I had a white and I mean little cotton top head until about half way through my childhood and then I turned into a brunette. I have never even had highlights until Monday! Crazy I know, I have always liked my hair color and in the summer it naturally has several different colors that pop out. I wanted something different but still natural looking... I got 3 colors put in it and my hair dresser did awesome! We had been planning this for a while ;).. I have gotten so many compliments on it this week! The hubs loved it too! Relaxed at home with Dustin this night (well thats every night really) and made some holiday sticks! They were good! We loved those too ;)

 Tuesday:
Spent studying for my last test! I ended up with all A's! yeah! For lunch on Tuesday I met up with some great friends.. took a break from studying and headed to McAlister's! We had a yummy lunch and a good time visiting! my best friend generated this picture! haha!
Wednesday:
Hung out with my mom for a little while. Then I hung out at my best friend's house for the rest of the afternoon. I love when school does not consume my extra time..I get to see my family and friends a lot more often! Went to church that night. I love Wednesday night church. It is like the heart of the church to me! :) Sunday morning service is always amazing too, but coming together in the middle of the week to serve God just makes the rest of the week good, and if it has already been a good one it makes it that much better :)
Thursday:
Just ran errands and did stuff around the house. Met up with Dustin and some friends to have lunch at Chili's. I made a chocolate chip cheese ball for our 1st annual dirty santa party with friends ...which was the highlight of thursday! Thanks for having us all over Corey and Tasha! Here are some pics from that..

best present there!
Hostess with the mostest & Kandace!
 Today:
Slept in for a long time. :) I love to get my sleep! Cleaned house. Got my check from work today and there was another envelope inside the bigger one with a sweet little surprise ;) a nice bonus! And one of my co-workers got me the cutest scarf! She said it just looked vintage and was screaming Ginger :) I love it! Can't wait to wear it! It's kind of funny too b/c I saw one similar to it a little while back that I wanted but did not get.. funny how things always work out! ;)

Hope everyone is having a merry time...... God bless!

Christmas Tree and a busy as usual me!

This week was busy as usual and so much fun! Monday my best friend and I headed out for some shopping! Her sister kept her kiddos and we just enjoyed the entire day shopping, eating, laughing, and visiting! We made a DAY of it!! Close to a 9 hr day out of it! ha! I love trying new restaurants.. well we both do ..so we decided to try out something neither of us had eaten before. We had lunch at Cheers, grabbed a cupcake from cupcakes on Kavanaugh(my fav), and headed out to shop! Such a fun way to start our day! Tues and Wed I wrapped up my last days of class! yay! Only have one test left and I am done! My sister and the kiddos came to visit one afternoon, and Thursday night Dustin and I had a little visitor come stay with us :) Cason spent the night! We love keeping our niece and nephews! We had so much fun!! Had dinner and visited at MiMi's(my mom's), looked at Christmas lights, and watched and danced to Yo-gabba gabba 97349843752 times! ;)
1..2..3..

JUMP!

This week I finally got to my tree!! Dustin got it out of storage and it had a little surprise waiting for me in the box! A dead mouse and some little mouse turds..eeeeeek! So gross..  it had eaten through the cardboard box and just died I guess?! So needless to say I bought another new tree this year! After Christmas it will go in a plastic box and hopefully we will not have to buy another new tree for a long time! I had so much fun decorating it! Love my new theme! It's whimsical and fun! :)

I found an ornament like this that I wanted for about $15 and I made mine for like $3... I sprayed a .99 cent floral wreath ring with spray adhesive and sprinkled glitter on it.. and VoilĂ  it looks just like the one I wanted!

and here is our tree.....

had a little help...

Excuse my bare windows.. do not have my curtains up yet! ;) The pictures do not do the tree justice.. looks even better in person! Can you tell I am proud?! :) Happy Holiday Decorating.....

Busy as a BEE!

I am always a busy person, but this week was especially hectic! We got completely moved into our new home! I can't wait to pour my little heart into it! :) We were really thankful to have the help of great friends and family to get that done! The next time we move will be into the house that we build and plan to live there the rest of our days! Moving is a chore! To say we are blessed would be an understatement to explain all that God has put in our path this year!! He is way too good to us! I still can't believe it is already december...one of my favorite times of the year :) Christmas is my favorite holiday!!! Jesus is the reason for the season! I love EVERYTHING about it... from the reason we celebrate, the music, crazy shopping adventures, decorating, the atmospheres, hallmark movies, baking, family/friend time, to the lights on roof tops and candy cane kisses!! I love it all! I have been pulling out all my Christmas stuff this week! I made another fabric wreath... I made the fall one and just had to make a Christmas one. I love it!

I am switching up my tree and decorations this year! I have been going with a more traditional red, gold, and green the past few years. I was getting bored with that so last year after Christmas I got a bunch of cute tree stuff for 75% off at hallmark!! I have picked up a few other things here and there and I can't wait to get my tree decorated! Moving has put a delay on decorating so I have been itching to get it done ;) .. Lime green and red are my colors this year! So fun!  I wanted to do something whimsical and different than what I had been doing. Here a couple things going on my tree this year plus lots more! Can't wait!
